Halloran gets endorsement from Independence Party

The New York State Independence Party endorsed City Council hopeful Dan Halloran in the crowded race to replace Councilman Tony Avella (D-Bayside), who is running for mayor rather than seeking re-election.
Halloran, an attorney from Auburndale, is the race’s sole Republican. His Democratic opponents include Jerry Iannece, Paul Vallone, Steve Behar, Debra Markell, Tom Cooke and Kevin Kim.
Halloran was also endorsed by the Republican Party in March.
“I will dedicate myself to restoring responsibility, ethics and accountability to our government and will continue to be an independent-minded candidate and honor the values of the Independence Party and the trust they have put in me to represent our local community,” Halloran said.
The district covers Bayside, Little Neck, Oakland Gardens, Douglaston, Auburndale, East Flushing, Whitestone and Malba.

I know Dan Halloran – he’s smart, honest and does what he says he’s going to do. He’s got my vote any day.
