The Jefferson Democratic Club of Flushing is marking its 100th year of existence with a dinner-dance Sept. 7 at Douglaston Manor at 7 p.m.
The club’s centennial celebration is honoring state Insurance Department Superintendent James Wrynn as its Man of the Year, state Assemblywoman Cathy Nolan (D-Ridgewood) as is Legislator of the Year, North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System Director of Government Relations Rosemary Kelly as its Woman of the Year and Freddy Delligatti, business agent for Plumbers Union Local 1 and vice president of the Queens Board of Business Agents, as its Labor Advocate of the Year.
“On behalf of Assemblywoman and District Leader Ann-Margaret Carrozza and District Leader Joe Bechtold, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all current members of the Jefferson Democratic Club, as well as previous generations of Jefferson Dems, for enabling us to achieve this historic milestone,” David Fischer, president of the Flushing-based club, said in a statement. “For the last 100 years, our members and leaders have championed Democratic values and demonstrated a centuries-long tradition of service and dedication to our northeast Queens community.”
