Queens residents watching “The Today Show” last Thursday got a sight that may have had some saying, “This is crazy.”
U.S. Rep. Joseph Crowley (D-Jackson Heights) was caught on the NBC show’s cameras dancing and mouthing along to Carly Rae Jepsen. The Canadian pop star sang her smash hit “Call Me Maybe” on the show’s concert series and the tall congressman, clad in a blue T-shirt and cap, was an obvious sight among the young teen girls in the crowd.
“The congressman’s kids are big Carly Rae Jepsen fans and he brought the whole family to the concert,” Crowley spokeswoman Courtney Gidner said in an e-mail. “He loves all types of music and finds the song catchy. When you have three kids under the age of 13, it’s hard to not know the lyrics to ‘Call Me Maybe.’”
