Former Nassau County Executive Tom Suozzi announced Thursday his campaign for Congress has raised over $750,000, bringing him one step closer to the June 28 primary election. His campaign said $300,000 alone has been gained in contributions since Suozzi’s last filing with the Federal Election Commission.
According to Suozzi, bringing relief to issues affecting veterans, immigrants and improving the lives of those suffering from mental illness are what have brought him back into politics after six years in private law practice.
The announcement comes on the same day the Suozzi campaign is to file its pre-primary contributions in the amount of $285,224.
