House ethics probe recommended for Crowley’s fund-raising

U.S. Rep. Joseph Crowley (D–Jackson Heights) is one of three congressman recommended by an independent ethics committee on Aug. 31 for a probe into his fund-raising, a spokeswoman from his office confirmed. The New York Post reported the investigation concerns money raised prior to the passage of a bill to reform Wall Street.

Meeks did not report $40k loan: Ethics group

A Washington, D.C.-based, nonpartisan ethics group has filed a complaint with the Office of Congressional Ethics against U.S. Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-Jamaica), alleging the congressman violated federal law and House rules for accepting a $40,000 personal loan from a Richmond Hill real estate developer in 2007 that he failed to disclose until last month.
